A second year of Nkwatia Presbyterian Senior High school in Eastern Region of Ghana goes partially blind after allegedly being slapped by the Assistant Headmaster Of Academics (ERIC ABU YEBOAH) for leaving the school without an exeat. The student is Called Diana Who offered General Art in school. The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) says it has relieved the Assistant headmaster (Academic) of Nkwatia Presby Senior High School off duty over a disturbing picture of a female student with bruises on her face.
In a statement copied to EducationWeb, the Education Service said the student according to a local media report was allegedly assaulted by the Assistant headmaster after she went out of campus without an exeat.

According to reports, the student identified as Diana, actually had permission to leave campus but the Headmaster refused to listen when she tried explaining to him. He made her kneel down for a period of time and when she told him that she was unwell, his alleged response was that he’ll lash her to make her feel better. She mistakenly held his cane when he was about to lash her and this infuriated him and prompted him to land a hefty slap on her face after which he beat her up. The GES unequivocally condemns the actions of the Assistant Headmaster, who is supposed to ensure that students and teachers operate in a safe school environment. The Eastern Regional Director of Education is liaising with the school authorities and the relevant law enforcement agency to investigate the matter. Meanwhile, the Assistant Headmaster has been relieved of his duties, and the student is receiving medical care and counselling. Ghana Education Service assures the general public that we are committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students across the country,” the Ghana Education Service said in the press statement.
